Masterpiece MP10

As most Transformers collectors on this side of the world know, the Masterpiece MP10 Toysrus exclusive have been really hard to find lately. I actually haven't even seen this set on store shelves yet. When this first appeared, I was thinking that I will pass on it. But after seeing some reviews and pictures, I just had to have one. There has been talk on the local forums that this set has been discontinued at our Toysrus which is a bummer. Luckily I spotted a sale post from a local collector at the right time, actually just a minute or two after he posted this bad boy up for sale for really close to the retail price.

So I met up with the collector tonight, chatted for a while about TF's and secured my MP10! Thanks!

    2. I kept checking it every day waiting for them to put it on the site, and it sold out. Free shipping, at least.

    3. Ya ours restocked at the weirdest times, so every time I read that it was in stock it was already sold out.

  3. My friend in Boise called Toys R Us every day for when the store would get one. They finally confirmed it for Thursday morning, and for him to come in at 10 to pick it up. We got there at 9:30, and they sold the only two, to two other guys, Doh. So we did a store to store call and had one sent. Its a really nice toy, I would have got one had it been easier.

    1. Wow, I really think it is stupid how this very-in-demand toy is on such a shortage in North America, while our pegs are filled to the brim with the unwanted BB's. I hope you end up finding one, I haven't opened mine yet because I don't have the display room for it right now, but even inside the packaging it looks very good!

  4. I have no seen this clear packaging for TF Masterpiece before. Rather refreshing and straight to the point. Maybe next time, they should try book cover concept like Toynami.

    1. This is the Hasbro version of the MP10. The Takara versions usually come in a back cardboard box. But at the $100 retail price for this Hasbro version, it is much better value than the $300 for the Takara one. I actually saw a review between the two and actually prefer the Hasbro one because the blue on this one is a lighter blue than the navy color on the Takara version. Also roller is blue instead of the silver in the Takara version.

I have seen some pictures of mountains of these things in the Hong Kong Toysrus, so I'd assume that's what's going on in your part of the world as well.
