Inventor & Weaponeer

I am still here! I've just been really busy at work so when I do have spare time I just want to sleep LOL!
Although I did get tons of new toys lately, but most of them are still in their packaging. It's going to take a while to go through them with the rate they are coming in. I guess the good side is I will always have something new to play with haha

As most collectors know, the new heated line is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 line from Playmates! I've picked up 3/4 modern design turtles on Friday, I am still missing Raphael, hopefully I will be able to get him sometime this week. I haven't seen the classics turtles in stores yet, but I will probably get them too when I see them. The only gripe I have with them is in all the pictures I've seen of them, their eyes are looking up rather then straight in front, although I guess that's a pretty simple fix.

I actually didn't think I was going to get the modern line, but after seeing some reviews and pictures online, I just fell in love with them. I just opened up the first figure I got in this line and it did not disappoint! The sculpt is really nicely done and it has just enough articulation to make it fun. The sculpt is different on each turtle which is a very nice touch to the line. This line has probably the best valued figures I've seen in a long time! Mad props to Playmates!

    1. Ya man! Hope I will be able to find a Raphael this week.
The reviews that are popping up all over the net aren't helping either. After seeing the classics Raphael and Leonardo from A Year of Toys blog, now I want them too. I have a feeling I will regret it if I don't get them. And then I just saw a video review of the playset and now I want that one too!!! Argghh Playmates really scored big with TMNT now, the previous try with TMNT didn't seem to work out that well when they released classics figures with classic articulation. I don't know what happened to their design team since then, but man I hope they churn out more great toys like these in the future! I never really liked Playmates until now.

    1. Yup you are right, there is only a single joint on the knees which can bend about 45 degrees max. The yellow shell flap is soft rubber though which allows the legs to move up more than it seems. Articulation-wise, these are quite limited compared to the Classics line, but I just love the design of these guys and I think there is enough articulation to make them fun to mess around with.
