Inventor & Weaponeer

I am still here! I've just been really busy at work so when I do have spare time I just want to sleep LOL!
Although I did get tons of new toys lately, but most of them are still in their packaging. It's going to take a while to go through them with the rate they are coming in. I guess the good side is I will always have something new to play with haha

As most collectors know, the new heated line is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 line from Playmates! I've picked up 3/4 modern design turtles on Friday, I am still missing Raphael, hopefully I will be able to get him sometime this week. I haven't seen the classics turtles in stores yet, but I will probably get them too when I see them. The only gripe I have with them is in all the pictures I've seen of them, their eyes are looking up rather then straight in front, although I guess that's a pretty simple fix.

I actually didn't think I was going to get the modern line, but after seeing some reviews and pictures online, I just fell in love with them. I just opened up the first figure I got in this line and it did not disappoint! The sculpt is really nicely done and it has just enough articulation to make it fun. The sculpt is different on each turtle which is a very nice touch to the line. This line has probably the best valued figures I've seen in a long time! Mad props to Playmates!

This reminds me of the kids meal I use to get in Hong Kong that comes in these characters-styled trays. The food usually wasn't that good, but it was fun to eat!

Lightbox Snaps

Putting back together my lightbox was the best thing I did this weekend. I am normally not a huge fan of white background pictures because everybody does them and they are boring. But after taking several shots and playing around with them in post, I have to agree that they do an excellent job at isolating the subject to make them stand out.

I took some shots of some new and old figures I have and I just love the results.
I will be doing a lot more of these soon!

Revoltech Alphonse Elric (Full Metal Alchemist)

After yesterday's comic strip with Edward Elric, I found it was really fun to do. So I did another one today with his brother, Alphonse Elric.

I also put my lightbox back together. The difference is now I am lighting it up with a flash which does a much better job than the light I was using before.   

Revoltech Edward Elric (Full Metal Alchemist)

It's a long weekend thanks to Canada Day so I decided to do a more elaborate photoshoot with this Revoltech Edward Elric I just opened up. I actually opened this figure once in the morning and gave up messing with it because it reminded me how much I hate posing figures with Revoltech joints for photos since they can never get in the right pose due to the rachet joints. But I gave him a second chance later on since I love the character and after playing around with the figure for a while (while watching Transformers Prime), I shot and compiled this set.

The other figure is also a Revoltech figure, but I forgot what anime he was from. I just got him because of his awesome gimmick lol!
